Yecla Wine Route gets four new stops on the tour
Four new establishments are joining the Yecla Wine Route

As of this December, the Ruta del Vino wine route in Yecla has four new members – La Tapeoteca, Bar Ideal, Kasa Ortega and the Asociación de Amigos de la Música de Yecla – forming part of the hugely popular activities related to the world of wine in this wine-growing area of Murcia.
The Yecla Wine Route has five wineries (Barahonda, Bodegas Castaño, La Purísima, Bodegas Evine and Conde de Montornés), as well as the Deortegas Olive Oil Mill and more than twenty restaurants and rural accommodation hotels and hostels nestled among the town’s among vineyards, where the charismatic and delicious ‘Monastrell’ grape stands out.
By coming together to form the wine route, they help tourists to the area to be able to discover the great local wines and olive oil to the fullest.
In the area there are also archaeological sites, a Roman wine cellar from the 1st and 3rd centuries AD and Mount Arabí, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Yecla’s commitment to wine tourism, and especially the model created by ACEVIN and Rutas del Vino de España, has proved to be one of the most fruitful activities to boost the economy of rural areas, say the wine route organisers, “as it not only offers territorial cohesion through public-private cooperation but also perfectly combines many of the experiences that travellers are looking for, including gastronomy, discovering the territory, history, museums, activities, nature and more.”
