Widespread alerts as more rain batters Murcia: Weather forecast Jan 5-8
Three Kings celebrations have been rearranged across the Region of Murcia due to the bad weather

Weather outlook on Monday morning, January 5
The Region of Murcia, along with many other parts of Spain, suffered the onslaught of storm Francis over the weekend, a front that brought torrential rain and widespread flooding. The downpours are set to continue well into this week and, as a result, Town Halls across the Region have been forced to rearrange the traditional Three Kings parades due to take place on the evening of January 5.
Monday January 5

Monday is looking like a fairly miserable day across the Region and although the storm won’t be quite as violent as Sunday, persistent and sometimes heavy rain is still forecast along the coast. The rain will hit everywhere in the first half of the day, and the Campo de Cartagena and Mazarrón will remain under yellow alerts until 10am.
The day will be cloudy overall with dangerous sea conditions in coastal areas and a very low snow lever of 700-800 metres in the northwest on Monday evening. Temperatures will fall across the board, barely making it into double digits at the height of the day.
Tuesday January 6

More heavy overnight rain will last into the early morning but by lunch time on Tuesday, the skies should have cleared nicely to reveal plenty of bright spells throughout the afternoon. All the weather alerts have been lifted, but snow will still fall inland.
Daytime temperatures will remain largely unchanged but Tuesday night will feel much colder than previous days, with minimums ranging between just -3ºC and 5ºC.
Wednesday January 7

Mid-week will bring more pleasant weather, with partly cloudy or clear skies forecast across the Region. Light frost will persist inland but the daytime temperatures will creep up in most places. The nights, on the other hand, will continue to feel colder.
Thursday January 8

Thursday promises to be mostly sunny with a light smattering of clouds. Thankfully, the temperatures will shoot up to highs of 15ºC or 16ºC in most areas and the minimums will also increase across the board.
Minimum and maximum temperatures in Murcia this week
- Monday January 5: Min 1ºC; Max 13ºC
- Tuesday January 6: Min -3ºC; Max 12ºC
- Wednesday January 7: Min -4ºC; Max 14ºC
- Thursday January 8: Min 1ºC; Max 16ºC
