Los Alcazares Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on Los Alcazares Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:

Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?

Weekend tours in Caravaca de la Cruz explaining the unique local fiestas
Delve into the traditions and legends of the May fiestas and the Running of the Wine Horses
The annual fiestas of Caravaca, held every year during the first five days of May, are famed throughout Spain for their colourful parades and above all the Running of the Wine Horses, and these guided tours which fall within the “Jubilee Experiences” available during the Holy Jubilee Year of 2024 in Caravaca de la Cruz follow a route which takes in the most iconic places and monuments associated with the festivities.
As tour groups stroll through the city the streets and squares come to life with anecdotes explained by the professional guide reveal the legends and secrets of the fiestas and the centuries-old traditions which are still maintained today.
The tours take place on Saturdays at 11.00 and 17.00 and on Sundays at 11.00 (although other days can be arranged subject to availability), lasting 2 and a half hours. Prior registration costs 12 euros per person and is required through Miguel Ángel Pomares (telephone 616 717888, email info@guiasmur.com).
Note: the tours take place only if a minimum of 4 people is reached.
