Lorca is welcoming almost 100 craftspeople and producers this weekend as FERAMUR returns to the city for its 42nd edition.

 

The Region of Murcia's official craft fair is taking place at the Alcalde Francisco Jódar Alonso Conference and Exhibition Centre at IFELOR until Sunday September 27, with exhibitors from across Spain showcasing handmade products and traditional skills.

 

Visitors can browse three pavilions filled with crafts, food and other locally made products, while a programme of live demonstrations offers a chance to see how items including pottery, jewellery, textiles, leather goods, esparto grass products and stonework are created.

 

There are also hands-on workshops for children and adults, along with tastings, fashion shows and an area dedicated to traditional Lorca embroidery.

 

One of this year's additions is EcoMURCIA, a new space focusing on organic food, sustainable production and agroecology. Eight stands are showcasing products including bread, flour, preserves, honey, nuts, plants, oils, wine, biscuits and organic sea salt.

 

FERAMUR is also taking some of its activities outside the exhibition centre, with craft demonstrations being held in different squares around Lorca's Feria de Día from Thursday to Saturday.

 

The fair is open from 11am to 2.30pm and 5pm to 10pm from Thursday to Saturday, with the final day running until 9pm on Sunday.
