Until October 6 Antique engravings exhibition in Jumilla
The “Grabados Antiguos” exhibition can be visited at the local ethnographic museum in Jumilla
An exhibition has opened at the Museo de Etnografía y Ciencias de la Naturaleza in Jumilla of old engravings from local collections, offering a chance to appreciate their great artistic and historical interest dating from a time when it first became possible to distribute knowledge and art widely in the printed form.
Most of the exhibits have been loaned free of charge to the museum for the duration of the exhibition, and in his opening day presentation Professor Andrés Carlos López described the prints as “a catalyst for modernity”. Such items are normally hung in private residences and are therefore not visible to the general public.
The museum and exhibition are open from Tuesday to Saturday between 10.00 and 14.00 and from 17.00 to 20.00, and on Sundays and public holidays from 11.00 to 14.00.
