Until October 11 Landscape art exhibition in Mazarrón
Local artists reflect on the influence of human activity on the natural landscape
The Casas Consistoriales (the old Town Hall building in the centre of Mazarrón) and the recently restored Casino are hosting this exhibition of artwork entitled “Visiones y Cultura del Paisaje” (Visions and Culture of the Landscape) until mid-October, displaying works of art which invite us to reflect on the effect of human activity on the landscape.
This is a very relevant topic in Mazarrón, as the mountains just north of the town centre were completely transformed by the mining activity of previous centuries, and of course the effects of both tourism and agriculture are still highly visible in the municipality!
The artists exhibiting are Laly Bélula, Manuel Delgado, Isabel Guillermo, José Hurtado Mena, Luis Izquierdo García, Luis Marino, Concha Martínez Montalvo, Blas Mira, Elisa Ortega, Manolo Pardo, Olga Rodríguez Pomares, Antonio Rosa Barber, Pilar Sala Vallejo, Juan Sánchez Calventus and Juan Jesús Yelo Cano, and the exhibition can be visited during the following timetable:
Monday to Saturday 10.00 to 14.00
Thursday and Friday afternoons (until the end of August) 17.30 to 20.30
Thursday and Friday afternoons (from September 1) 17.00 to 20.00
Note: closed on Saturday August 30.
