Until June 28 Myths and Reality in the History of Jumilla

An exhibition at the Jerónimo Molina Archaeology Museum in Jumilla

Could there really be a secret tunnel leading from the “Casón”, the 4^th-century burial chamber or mausoleum on the southern edge of Jumilla, and the medieval castle which stands high above the town to the north?

What happened at the “incón de la Matanza” (literal translation “slaughter corner”) to give the place its name?

This exhibition at the Museo Arqueológico Jerónimo Molina in Jumilla, in the north of Murcia, seeks to illustrate and explain various local myths connected with both recent and ancient history, revisiting and hopefully adding a little context to the stories which have been handed down among the population through the generations. Some are based on historical fact, others are pure fantasy… find out more until 28^th June!
