Until December 8 Exhibition of religious sculptures and accoutrements in Jumilla

Figures and adornments from the Semana Santa processions of Jumilla, the oldest in Murcia

2025 is the 25th anniversary of the addition of the figure of Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza to the traditional Semana Santa processions in Jumilla, which date back to the 15^th century (making them the oldest on record in Murcia) and have been awarded International Tourist Interest status, and in celebration this exhibition entitled “María Spes Nostras” is being held at the Jerónimo Molina Natural Science and Ethnography museum until 8^th December.

Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza features in the procession of the Penitents and this exhibition includes various of the sculptures paraded solemnly through the streets as well as some of the jewellery and other accessories with which they are adorned.

The exhibition can be visited until 8^th December during normal museum opening times (Tuesday to Saturday 10.00 to 14.00 and 17.00 to 20.00, Sundays 11.00 to 14.00).
