Two separate balcony falls in the Balearic Islands leave one man dead and another seriously injured
Investigations are underway after a fatal fall in Ibiza and a serious incident in Palma de Mallorca

A 20-year-old man has died and another man has been seriously injured in two unrelated balcony falls that occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning, July 20, in Spain’s Balearic Islands.
The fatal Ibiza accident happened just after midnight at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel in San Antonio. According to regional emergency service SAMU 061, the young man fell from the third floor of the hotel.
He suffered multiple trauma injuries and was in critical condition when medics arrived. Despite efforts to resuscitate him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two life support units were dispatched to the hotel, but paramedics were unable to save the man’s life.
The Ibiza Rocks Hotel has been the site of previous fatal incidents in recent years. In May 2025, the body of a 33-year-old British woman was found inside a room at the hotel under unclear circumstances. Just a month earlier, a 19-year-old died after a hotel fall and another young British holidaymaker died this July.
These series of incidents raise serious concerns over safety and sensitivity to tragedy at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel.
In an entirely separate incident this weekend, which occurred around the same time, a 49-year-old man was seriously injured after falling from the first floor of a building in Palma, Mallorca.
The fall, from a height of approximately three metres, happened at number 14 on calle Julià Álvarez.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 12.09am. An advanced life support unit stabilised the man before transferring him in a serious condition to the Son Espases University Hospital. He also suffered multiple trauma injuries.
Both incidents are currently under investigation as authorities work to determine the precise circumstances surrounding the falls.
