Torre Pacheco to build new roundabout near La Torre Golf Resort
A planned junction upgrade aims to improve safety and traffic flow at a key access point to Roldán and its industrial estate

Torre Pacheco Town Council is moving ahead with plans to construct a new roundabout on the RM-F21 road at the entrance to the Roldán industrial estate, just south of La Torre Golf Resort, in a bid to improve road safety and ease congestion at one of the main routes into the town centre.
The project, drawn up by engineering firm Incimur Ingeniería, forms part of the municipality’s Infrastructure Investment Plan, and focuses on reorganising traffic at the junction located at kilometre 8+715 of the RM-F21, where Calle Cáritas Española meets Calle Mario Soares.
Local authorities say the current layout presents difficulties, particularly for vehicles exiting the industrial estate towards Roldán. The redesign is intended to provide a safer and more efficient solution, while also improving traffic flow towards nearby areas such as Los Martínez del Puerto.
A key element of the plan is the extension of the existing roundabout within the industrial estate so that it connects directly to the regional road. This will allow vehicles to enter and exit more smoothly in all directions and reduce conflict points at the junction.
The new roundabout will consist of a single circular lane measuring six metres in width, along with a 1.5-metre inner hard shoulder. In total, the structure will span approximately 28 by 21.5 metres.
Construction work will involve the demolition of existing pavements, walls and signage, as well as milling the current road surface. Earthworks will also be carried out to level the terrain and prepare it for the new layout.
Once the groundwork is complete, the project will include resurfacing with multiple layers of bituminous mix, alongside the installation of kerbs, pavements and cobbled areas in the surrounding space. New vertical and horizontal signage will also be added to reinforce road safety measures.
The design incorporates perimeter traffic islands to guide vehicles more effectively, as well as landscaping improvements within the roundabout itself. Plans include replanting trees and installing artificial turf to help the infrastructure blend into its surroundings.
According to Torre Pacheco council, the initiative responds to growing traffic demand generated by activity in the Roldán industrial estate. By channelling vehicle movements more efficiently, the new roundabout is expected to reduce congestion and improve overall mobility at this strategic access point for the town.
