Thunderstorms, hail and 40ºC heat: Murcia's weekend weather forecast August 13-16
The Region faces another unsettled few days, with hail, heavy rain and strong winds possible as temperatures remain high inland

Weather alerts activated on Thursday August 13
The weather in the Region of Murcia is set to remain unsettled over the next few days, with showers, thunderstorms, hail and strong winds possible, particularly across inland areas.
The unsettled conditions come after the Northwest, Altiplano and Vega del Segura were battered by storms and heavy flooding earlier this week, making the prospect of more heavy rainfall particularly significant for those areas.
Thursday August 13

Thursday will bring partly cloudy skies, with cloud building inland as the day progresses.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop, particularly across the northern parts of the Region, and some could be locally heavy and accompanied by hail and very strong gusts of wind.
Temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged, while winds will be light and variable, becoming occasionally moderate during the afternoon.
AEMET has weather warnings in place for the Region on Thursday because of the risk of storms, with the possibility of hail and very strong wind gusts.
Friday August 14

Friday will bring another day of potentially heavy showers and thunderstorms, with the greatest risk inland.
The day will begin generally clear, although there could be intervals of low cloud during the morning around the Campo de Cartagena.
Cloud will build over inland areas during the day, with showers and thunderstorms developing during the afternoon. These are expected to be more likely and more intense in the inland mountain ranges, where some could become locally heavy.
Temperatures will remain broadly unchanged, although a slight decrease is possible in some areas.
Winds will initially be light and variable before becoming easterly or southeasterly, with moderate gusts during the afternoon.
Saturday August 15

The weather should begin to settle slightly on Saturday, with all weather alerts lifted.
Skies will be generally clear, although there could be intervals of low cloud and morning mist around the Campo de Cartagena.
As the day progresses, cloud will build inland and showers and thunderstorms are again possible during the afternoon.
The north of the Region is expected to be the main focus for the storms, with some showers potentially becoming locally heavy, particularly around the inland mountain areas.
Temperatures will remain broadly unchanged or could fall slightly in some areas.
Sunday August 16

Sunday should bring a further improvement, although some unsettled conditions will remain inland.
Skies will be partly cloudy, with intervals of high cloud and some low cloud along the coast during the morning.
Cloud will build over the inland mountains during the day, where isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible.
Temperatures are expected to remain broadly unchanged.
