Three Murcia restaurants named among Spain's best places to eat for under €100
Eateries in Murcia, La Manga del Mar Menor and Lo Pagán all feature among the 100 best in the country

Three restaurants in the Region of Murcia have earned a place in a new guide highlighting the 100 best places to eat in Spain for less than €100 per person.
The list, compiled by an independent panel of food experts, aims to showcase outstanding restaurants across the country where diners can enjoy top-quality food without the eye-watering prices often associated with fine dining.
Among those selected are Restaurante Hispano in Murcia city, La Mestiza in La Manga del Mar Menor and Venezuela in Lo Pagán, each recognised in a different category.Restaurante Hispano was chosen in the bar category. The restaurant, which celebrated its 100th anniversary this year, is a long-established favourite in Murcia and is run by the third generation of the Abellán family. The guide praises its traditional approach and focus on high-quality local produce, with popular dishes including seafood, seasonal vegetables, steak tartare and rice dishes.
Over in Lo Pagán, Restaurante Venezuela earned its place thanks to its famous caldero, the traditional rice and fish dish closely associated with the Mar Menor. Originally founded as a fishermen's bar more than 60 years ago, the restaurant is now considered one of the area's best-known dining destinations. The guide also highlights its fresh fish, seafood and salted fish specialities.
The third Murcia entry is La Mestiza, a beachfront restaurant in La Manga del Mar Menor overlooking Cala del Turco. Selected in the beach category, it stood out for its mix of Mediterranean and international flavours, along with more creative dishes that go beyond the typical beach bar menu. Its bluefin tuna tartare, vegetable rice dishes and sea views all received special mention. The recognition puts three very different restaurants from the Region of Murcia on the national gastronomic map.
