Time is running out to secure your place at the first major golf tournament of 2026 in Murcia. The Elite Golf Tour kicks off next Thursday January 15 at New Sierra Golf Club and with a maximum field of just 60 players, spaces are filling up quickly.

 

Over three days, golfers will battle it out for a share of the impressive €2,000 prize purse, competing on one of the Region's most highly-rated courses in a format designed to test skill, strategy and nerve.

 

New Sierra Golf, located in the municipality of Torre Pacheco near Balsicas, is a firm favourite among local golfers and regularly cited as one of the best courses to play in the Region of Murcia. The par-36 layout stretches over 3,000 metres of fine Bermuda grass fairways, offering a challenging but fair test for players of all abilities.

 

The competition promises “thrilling competition, friendly rivalry and unforgettable camaraderie,” according to the organisers.

 

Rounds 1 and 2 on Thursday and Friday will be played as Stableford. Then, for those who make the cut, Saturday's final round switches to Medal play, where every shot counts and the pressure really mounts.

 

With €2,000 on the line, this is serious money for club-level competition. Whether you're chasing the top prize or just want to test yourself against quality opposition, the Elite Golf Tour offers a real championship experience.

 

Entry is open to all golfers with a handicap of 28 or less. At €165 per person, the entry fee is excellent value, covering all green fees for three full rounds plus complimentary drinks and snacks on the final presentation day.
