Thermometers will barely drop below 30 degrees in Murcia tonight
Tonight’s sweltering heat comes ahead of even hotter weather on Thursday
The entire Region of Murcia is on yellow or orange alert for high temperatures this Wednesday, July 31.
Thermometers will reach up to 42ºC in different parts of the Altiplano, the Northwest and the Vega del Segura in the central hours of the day, while the minimum temperatures are not expected to drop far below 30ºC tonight.
It’s going to be a torrid night, with temperatures above 25ºC making it difficult to fall asleep. When it doesn’t even get below 25ºC at night, Spain’s State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) officially classes it as ‘torrid’.
The places that will have the warmest temperatures in the early hours of Thursday morning, August 1, are Alhama de Murcia and Puerto Lumbreras, with a minimum forecasted temperature of 30ºC.
This hot night will be just a preamble to Thursday, when the maximum temperatures during the day will be even higher than on Wednesday, reaching up to 43ºC.
Aemet has already issued an orange alert warning of high temperatures in the entire Region, except in the Campo de Cartagena/Mar Menor area, which will be on yellow alert.
