The World Cup is at Espacio Mediterráneo this summer
Football fever has hit the Cartagena shopping centre with games, instant prizes and a whole lot of fun for all the family
If you are even slightly caught up in World Cup fever this summer, Espacio Mediterráneo has found a very enjoyable way to make the most of it.The much-loved Cartagena shopping centre is throwing itself headfirst into the tournament this summer with Match Goal, a football-themed event running from June 12 to July 19 2026, and it sounds like a lot of fun. Think interactive challenges, hundreds of instant prizes, official Spanish team merchandise and a grand final draw on July 20. Not bad for a shopping trip.
How to get involved
There are four ways to play, and you can take part in as many as you like:
La Porra (the prediction game): Download the Espacio Mediterráneo app, choose which country you think will lift the trophy, and if you get it right you will be in the draw for an official Spanish national team shirt. There are two shirts to be won, so your odds are better than you might think.- Match Goal: Head to the centre and take on this interactive precision challenge for a chance to win exclusive prizes. It is one of those activities that sounds simple but tends to draw a crowd, and rightly so.
- Hat Trick Challenge: This one rewards the committed. Visit the centre, complete all three challenges, and you will be entered into a draw for a 100-euro Carrefour gift voucher. Three tasks, one very decent prize.
- Social media giveaways: Follow Espacio Mediterráneo on social media throughout the event for additional competitions and exclusive prizes that pop up along the way.
With hundreds of instant prizes up for grabs across the weeks, plus the big final draw on 20th July, there are plenty of chances to come away with something worthwhile. It is the kind of event where you might pop in for a coffee and leave with a lot more than you expected.
A summer destination worth visiting
Espacio Mediterráneo has long been one of the region's favourite spots for shopping, eating out and a bit of leisure, and Match Goal is a reminder that the centre consistently goes the extra mile when it comes to keeping things fresh and fun for its visitors. Whether you are a lifelong football fan or just fancy your chances at winning a prize or two, this is a great excuse to head in.
To stay on top of schedules, prize mechanics and how each activity works, download the Espacio Mediterráneo app or follow the centre on social media. Everything you need to know is there.
The event runs until July 19, with the final draw on July 20. Get involved!
