Stream: The horror movie filmed in Yecla which is wowing festivals in the UK and USA
A locally made thriller has become Yecla’s first film to premiere internationally on Amazon Prime Video

Not only is it the first feature film to be released by a Yecla-based production company, but it also marks the town’s debut on Amazon Prime Video, where it became available to viewers earlier this May.
Directed by Sergio Pereda and led by actor Rodrigo Prieto in the role of Craven, Stream tells a gripping story that directly references Yecla, with the town’s name even appearing in the on-screen dialogue.
The production was spearheaded by local company Wild Lemon Films, in collaboration with Cotas Films and MGC Marketing, and enjoyed strong institutional support from the Yecla City Council’s Department of Tourism, the Murcia Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts (ICA), and several local businesses and associations.
The film has already impressed international audiences, with screenings at renowned genre festivals including the Chicago Horror Film Festival in the United States and the Blacksunday Film Festival in the UK, as well as events in Panama, Chile and Spain.
Yecla Councillor for Tourism Isabel Pérez highlighted the significance of the release, saying, “This is the first time that a film shot in Yecla has been released on a platform such as Amazon Prime.”
Yecla Film Office promotes movie recording in the Region of Murcia
The release of Stream also marks the first major success of the newly operational Yecla Film Office, a municipal initiative aimed at drawing more film productions to the area and promoting Yecla as a creative destination.
Having joined the Region of Murcia’s Film Commission network in February 2023, the office is now fully active with dedicated staff and a presence on social media, ready to assist filmmakers and audiovisual professionals.
This latest milestone reinforces Yecla’s commitment to the cultural and economic potential of the film industry. With the Film Office now positioned as a strategic hub, the town is poised to attract future projects and further establish itself on the cinematic map.
For more information about filming in Yecla, the Film Office can be contacted via email at filmoffice@yecla.es or by phone at 0034 968 754 104 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm).
