September 27 Wine and furniture tour of Yecla
Yecla exports its wines and furniture all over the world!
The local economy of the town of Yecla in the north of Murcia is characterized mainly by the predominance of two sectors, wine and furniture, and this unusual guided tour on Friday 27th September includes visits to two of the most representative local businesses.
The first is the company FAMA, which has been a pioneer in the design and development of upholstered furniture in recent decades. They are an innovative company in terms of their production process, as will be seen during the visit.
This is followed by a visit to Bodegas Conde de Montornés, affiliated to the Yecla Wine Route, where a tour includes the different areas of the production, ageing and bottling processes and a tasting of a couple of the products.
The tour begins at FAMA at 16.30 and lasts approximately 2 and a half hours with a cost of 8 euros per head (payable on entry to the winery). The Yecla tourist office will confirm details a couple of days before the event but those taking part will need to organize their own transport to reach the winery! Make your reservation online here.
If visiting Yecla make sure one of your first ports of call is the tourist office (Plaza Mayor, 1, email turismo@yecla.es, telephone 968 754104).
