Los Alcázares is seriously stepping up municipal security by expanding its video surveillance network to include 22 strategically positioned CCTV cameras throughout the town.

 

The comprehensive system, which is already up and running, represents a major investment in resident safety and modern policing capabilities.

 

Every entrance and exit to the municipality now falls under surveillance coverage, ensuring that the authorities can monitor who comes and goes from the town. Additionally, the CCTV cameras focus on particularly vulnerable locations and areas that see heavy foot traffic, including the bustling Plaza del Espejo and the historic Torre del Rame.

 

According to Eufemio Pacheco, Councillor for New Technologies, the system serves multiple purposes that go well beyond basic security monitoring.

 

"The main objective of this measure is to strengthen citizen safety, improve traffic control and facilitate the work of the Local Police, who now have more effective technological tools for monitoring incidents and preventing crime," he explained.

 

The current 22-camera network is just the beginning of Los Alcázares' security modernisation efforts. The Department of New Technologies is working closely with Local Police to identify additional strategic locations that would benefit from CCTV coverage.

 

This expansion is part of a comprehensive plan to provide Los Alcázares with a smart, secure and modern infrastructure.
