On Monday July 7, work began to repair and improve the road surface on the RM-608 road in Alhama de Murcia, on the section between the junction with the A-7/RM-2 and the junction with Camino Real, next to the Saura petrol station (k.p. 0+000 to k.p. 0+784).

 

This road, which is two-way and 10 metres wide, will undergo work to improve safety and comfort for drivers. The works consist of removing 5cm of “deteriorated asphalt” and laying a new layer of “hot bituminous mix,” according to a press release from the local Town Hall.

 

In the most damaged sections, the road surface will be completely repaired. In addition, the project includes the replacement of several road signs, the repainting of the road markings and pruning of mulberry tree branches on the public parts of the RM-515 road.

 

During the works, which are scheduled to last until Friday July 25, “one lane of traffic will be closed”.

 

“The passage of vehicles will be regulated with portable traffic lights and specific signage,” said the Town Council. “We ask for your understanding for the inconvenience. These actions are necessary to guarantee road safety.”
