Rain and thunderstorms expected for the May bank holiday weekend: Alicante weather forecast April 30-May 3
Cloudy overcast skies, cooler temperatures and even the possibility of muddy rain and thunderstorms over the weekend

Unfortunately, the May bank holiday weekend looks like it will be cloudy and wet across Alicante, with rain expected on and off over the coming days and the chance of some heavier showers and thunderstorms in places. Temperatures will be fairly mild, but it may feel chilly under the grey skies and during the wetter spells. So you may need to adapt your weekend plans or at the very least keep an umbrella close by!
Thursday April 30
Thursday looks like the pick of the days, with plenty of sunshine and just a little cloud around at times. Later in the afternoon, some clouds could build inland and there's a chance of showers, but for most places it should stay dry.
Some inland areas may wake up to a little mist or low cloud, but this should clear fairly quickly. Temperatures will stay pleasant, with inland areas feeling a little warmer by the afternoon. Winds will be light.
Friday May 1
Friday is when the weather takes a turn, with cloud thickening through the day and rain expected across much of the province. Some showers could be heavy at times, with the chance of thunderstorms in places.
Nights will feel a little milder, but with cooler daytime temperatures, cloud and rain will make it feel fresher than it has in recent weeks. Winds will stay fairly light.
Saturday May 2
It will be cloudy all day on Saturday, with further spells of rain likely throughout the day. Inland areas, especially further north, could also see heavier showers at times and the odd thunderstorm cannot be ruled out. Temperatures will stay on the cool side for early May, and light easterly winds will continue.
Sunday May 3
And the cloud and rain will stick around all day Sunday as well. Unfortunately, some areas could see muddy rain as clouds of dust are expected in the air, which will mix with the light rain. Not a great way to finish the weekend but the temperatures are expected to creep back up at least.
A wet bank holiday weekend may not be ideal for barbeques or beach trips... it might be a better weekend to head to the cinema instead!
Minimum and maximum temperatures in Alicante this weekend:

- Thursday April 30: Min 12ºC, Max 27ºC
- Friday May 1: Min 14ºC, Max 24ºC
- Saturday May 2: Min 14ºC, Max 22ºC
- Sunday May 3: Min 15ºC, Max 22ºC
