Princess Leonor surprises onlookers at local regatta before taking to the skies over San Javier
The heir to the Spanish throne took part in a regatta in Santiago de la Ribera before continuing her pilot training at the General Air and Space Academy

Princess Leonor has been spotted around San Javier and the Mar Menor area a few times now since she arrived at the General Air and Space Academy in San Javier to continue her training. She has popped up at local restaurants and has also been seen out jogging around the area on several occasions.
This week has been another busy one for the Princess, as she surprised local crowds by taking part in the inter-university regatta in Santiago de la Ribera as part of the AGAE team.

Her appearance on the water caught some people off guard, with Leonor joining fellow cadets in the rowing competition alongside university teams from across Spain. It was all a fairly low-key event, but it certainly caught the eye of those lucky enough to be watching on.
The University of Murcia went on to take the overall win at the regatta, with the AGAE team finishing in second place. Leonor received a silver medal with her teammates, which was presented by the mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo.
After the regatta, it was back to her training at the General Air and Space Academy in San Javier, where she's now in the final stage of her military instruction.
Then on Monday, she was back in the skies again, waving and smiling as she completed her second solo flight in a Pilatus PC-21 training aircraft.

The PC-21 is used for advanced pilot training, and solo flights mean cadets carry out the full flight themselves, from take-off to landing, without an instructor onboard. Her training includes flying, simulator sessions and classroom work, along with survival exercises and physical preparation linked to military aviation.
Alongside flying, cadets also go through survival and operational training, including sea survival, escape and resistance exercises, and physical preparation linked to flying equipment and high-G conditions. She has also taken part in the academy's traditional oath of allegiance ceremony.

Once this phase is complete, Princess Leonor is expected to continue her studies in Political Science at the University Carlos III de Madrid, while also continuing her role as heir to the Spanish throne alongside her academic life.
