Meteorological winter has officially begun in Spain, but it doesn’t look like Alicante province has received the memo yet. The first half of the week promises to be bright, sunny and mild, although some rain is forecast as we head towards the weekend.

 

A cold and cloudy early morning will clear to mostly sunny skies by the afternoon. Occasional dawn showers are likely along the far north coast but these should clear up quickly.

Both day-and night-time temperatures will remain unchanged.

 

Moderate northeasterly winds along the coast will settle down by the afternoon.

 

Tuesday will be lovely and bright until the middle of the afternoon, when the skies will darken inland. Those westerly breezes will persist along the coast and little change is expected temperature-wise.

 

Partly cloudy skies should become mostly clear by the end of the day. Light rain is likely in inland areas of Valencia and Alicante during the first half of Wednesday. Minimum temperatures will be slightly lower or unchanged, with light frost in inland areas, and daytime temperatures will be noticeably cooler.

 

Thursday will be the cloudiest day of the week so far with a strong chance of rain throughout Alicante province. Despite the showers, day-time temperatures could inch up by a degree or two although strong westerly winds could make it feel colder.

• Monday December 1: Min 6ºC; Max 19ºC
• Tuesday December 2: Min 5ºC; Max 20ºC
• Wednesday December 3: Min 4ºC; Max 19ºC
• Thursday December 4: Min 6ºC; Max 17ºC
