October 9 to 12 Las Cocinas del Jubileo gastronomy event during the Fair of Caravaca
A hugely popular Tapas Street on Paseo de la Corredera in Caravaca de la Cruz
One of the most popular aspects of the annual autumn fair in Caravaca de la Cruz in recent years has been the Las Cocinas del Jubileo gastronomy event, which in 2025 attracted approximately 15,000 visitors who, between them, ordered as many as 25,000 portions of tapas, so the announcement of the participants in the 2026 edition has been eagerly awaited.
As of 7th September, the news has been unveiled that among the star chefs are some of the best-known in the Region of Murcia, including María Gómez of the Magoga restaurant in Cartagena, Juan Guillamón of “Almo”, Salvador Fernández of Casa Borrego in Bullas and Gabino Martínez of Restaurante Arrabal in Aledo.
The programme also features a demonstration of tuna cutting by the staff of Ricardo Fuentes and a whole host of other gastro-experiences related to the cultural and historical heritage of the city and the Basílica-Santuario de la Vera Cruz.
A total of 25 establishments are taking part over the four days with the unifying theme of the Camino del Mediterráneo pilgrimage route which leads to the holy relic in Caravaca, and of course the attractions feature show cooking, tastings, workshops, children’s activities and music. The tapas area will be located as usual on Paseo de la Corredera, along with a gourmet market, while the Plaza San Juan de la Cruz hosts a lot of the other activities.
