November 29 The beauty of 19th-century Romantic song in Águilas

The new A Tempo season of classical music events continues in Águilas on Sunday 29^th November with a concert in which voice, clarinet and piano come together in a programme of delicate intimacy, centred on the Romantic song and its many shades of expression. Spohr's “Sechs deutsche Lieder” inhabit a world of confidences, longing and restrained emotion, with the clarinet extending and transforming the vocal line with remarkable naturalness.

Schubert brings this dialogue to one of its finest expressions in “Der Hirt auf dem Felsen”, a work of freedom, lyricism and light, while Massenet introduces a more overtly theatrical and dramatic voice. The Euphonía Trío (soprano María Jesús García, clarinettist Juan Miguel Ortega and pianist Juan Antonio Higuero) trace a journey from intimacy to the stage, from private song to the full expressive force of the operatic voice.

Tickets for the concert, which begins at 20.00, are available at 20 euros online here as well as through the auditorium box office and at the local Archaeological museum and the Casa de la Cultura.
