Non-resident property tax: Stress-free filing with IberianTax

Although owning a property in Spain is a dream for many, filing your non-resident property taxes can prove more of a nightmare. For most non-resident owners, processes in the Spanish bureaucracy can feel confusing, time-consuming and costly. This is where IberianTax comes in.
IberianTax is a specialised digital platform that helps non-residents in Spain file their Modelo 210 form quickly, securely, and entirely online. No lawyers, no jargon and no stress. Just a few clicks from the comfort of your home.
Created to simplify one of Spain’s most complex tax obligations, IberianTax makes filing property taxes fast, accurate and cost-effective for every Spanish property owner living abroad.
Built for non-resident property owners, by experts
Founded in 2020 by experienced tax lawyer Antonio Ibarra Vich and senior software developer Juan Manuel Sivianes, IberianTax was born during the pandemic, a time when many non-residents struggled to stay compliant due to travel restrictions, confusing paperwork and language barriers.
The goal was clear: to make Spanish non-resident tax filing simple, accessible and trustworthy. Unlike the government sites, IberianTax was designed with the end-user in mind. The entire filing process typically takes under five minutes on any device. And users can feel confident in the process, as IberianTax offers multilingual service and customer support in English, Spanish, German and French.
Your trusted B2B partner in compliance
IberianTax goes beyond automation and transparency, believing that knowledge is key. Through clear guides, expert insights and up-to-date blog articles, IberianTax helps property owners understand their rights and obligations without the legal jargon. It all forms part of the wider mission: to make non-resident property taxes clear, accessible and stress-free.
Thanks to its growing success, the company now also offers a B2B platform for agencies, accountants, real estate professional, and other businesses looking to manage their client filings efficiently and without the need of prior tax knowledge.
With this in mind, the 2025/2026 deadlines are fast approaching, and at IberianTax, we want to make this process easy and stress-free for you. Here’s a breakdown of the key dates you need to know:
Key 2025/2026 deadlines for Non-resident property owners in Spain:
- Imputed Income (Modelo 210) – Annual Return (of previous year) by December 31st
Even if your property is not rented or used only for personal purposes, you must file an imputed income tax return based on its cadastral value.- For the 2024 tax year, the deadline is December 31st, 2025
- December 23rd 2025, if you choose to pay by Direct Debit.
- Rental Income (Modelo 210) – Annual Filing between 1st and 20th of January, 2026 (for the 2025 tax year)
If you rent out your property (either long-term or short-term), you must file your Modelo 210 rental income tax return within this period.- If you choose Direct Debit payment, the deadline is January 15, 2026.
- With IberianTax, we make the process even easier by allowing you to pre-fill your tax form starting in October, so there’s no need to wait until January to complete your declaration.
- Late or missing filings can trigger penalties, interest, and back taxes - so setting reminders for these dates is essential.
- Capital Gains (Modelo 210) – One time filing within 4 months
When selling your property, you must file a Modelo 210 capital gains declaration within four months of the sale date.- The buyer is also required to submit Modelo 211, paying the 3% withholding tax on your behalf. This withholding can later be refunded when you file your Modelo 210 Capital Gains return through IberianTax.
