Alhama de Murcia is making strides in enhancing the quality of life for people living in the municipality’s rural areas. The latest upgrades include the installation of six new picnic tables and significant improvements to parks and play areas, all aimed at fostering community connections and encouraging outdoor enjoyment, according to councillor Pedro José López.

 

Here’s a closer look at the updates across various districts:

 

 

This popular gathering spot now boasts two new picnic tables, providing locals with a convenient and comfortable space for events and outdoor activities.

 

A picnic table has been installed behind the school, making this place an ideal space for children and young people to enjoy their meals. In addition, the playground has been improved with the addition of a seesaw and the bowling area has been refurbished by adding a fresh surface, revitalising this key area for local leisure.

 

 

In this district, three new picnic tables have been added, one in Cañarico Nuevo and two in Cañarico Viejo.

In Cañarico Nuevo, the ground has also been levelled and gravel added to improve the area next to the school, offering a more functional environment for families.

 

 

These updates reflect the Alhama de Murcia Town Council’s dedication to improving public spaces in rural districts, promoting leisure, coexistence and the enjoyment of nature.

 

The goal, according to Councillor Pedro José López, is that all residents, both in the municipality and in the districts, can enjoy quality infrastructures that improve their daily lives.
