Murcia weekend weather forecast Aug 6-9: More scorching heat with temperatures up to 40°C
An orange heat warning remains in force for parts of the Region as inland temperatures continue to push towards 40°C

Heat alerts on Thursday August 6
There'll be no let-up from the summer heat in the Region of Murcia over the next four days, with sunshine dominating the forecast and temperatures climbing close to 40°C in the hottest inland areas.
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has weather alerts in place for extreme heat, with a yellow warning covering the Vega del Segura and the northwest, where temperatures are expected to reach 40°C during the hottest part of the day. Yellow alerts are also in force for the Altiplano, Northwest, Guadalentín Valley, Lorca, Águilas, Campo de Cartagena and Mazarrón, where maximum temperatures of 37°C to 39°C are forecast.
Thursday August 6

Thursday will be another cloudless day across the Region, with temperatures rising quickly during the morning. Murcia city, Molina de Segura, Cieza and Archena are all expected to top out at around 39°C to 40°C, making inland areas the hottest places to be.
Along the coast, conditions will be more bearable thanks to the sea breeze. Cartagena, La Manga, Mazarrón and Águilas should see highs of 31°C to 34°C, although the humidity will make it feel warmer. Overnight temperatures will remain stubbornly high across much of the Region, with many places failing to drop below 24°C.
Friday August 7

Friday brings almost identical weather, with uninterrupted sunshine and very hot conditions continuing across the Region. Inland temperatures will once again peak at around 39°C or 40°C, meaning anyone spending long periods outdoors should take extra care during the afternoon.
The coast will remain several degrees cooler, with temperatures generally reaching 32°C to 34°C. Light easterly winds will provide some relief, particularly during the late afternoon and evening.
Saturday August 8

There are few signs of any change as the weekend gets under way. Bright sunshine will continue from morning until evening, with inland parts of the Region once again pushing close to 40°C.
Coastal areas will enjoy another ideal summer's day, with clear skies, calm seas and temperatures in the low 30s. Inland, however, the combination of intense sunshine and very warm nights will keep heat stress levels high.
Sunday August 9

Sunday rounds off the weekend in much the same way, with another hot and dry day expected across the Region of Murcia. Inland areas should again reach 39°C to 40°C, while coastal towns will remain in the 31°C to 34°C range.
No significant rain is expected and skies should stay largely clear throughout the day.
