Murcia Town Hall announces reduced water bills to make up for drinking water cuts in October

The reductions will be reflected in the next water bills received by residents of the districts and golf resorts

Following the lead set by Los Alcázares, San Javier and Torre Pacheco earlier in the week, the Town Hall of Murcia and the local water supply company (Aguas de Murcia) will be reducing their next bills for the fourth quarter of 2025 to reflect the 10 days or so during which tap water was not drinkable following the flooding caused by Storm Alice in the Campo de Cartagena.

Some 16,700 residents were affected in the rural districts where water supplies were down for 13 days, especially the villages and golf resorts of Sucina, Gea y Truyols and Jerónimo y Avileses. During the crisis the Town Hall sent supplies to provide drinking and showering water, distributing as much as 2.5 million litres by such means.
