The brief break from the heat that the Region of Murcia enjoyed earlier in the week is coming to an end, with temperatures set to climb again from this Friday September 4.

 

The State Meteorological Agency, Aemet, has issued a yellow alert for high temperatures affecting the Altiplano and Vega del Segura areas.

 

Highs in these two areas are expected to reach 38°C, with the warning in place between 1pm and 9pm. Elsewhere across the Region temperatures will hover around 37°C, although Cartagena will see a milder day with highs closer to 32°C.

 

Overnight lows won't drop much either, staying around 20-21°C across most of the Region, while the Altiplano and Northwest areas can expect slightly cooler nights of around 18-19°C.

 

Things are expected to cool down a little on Saturday September 5, when temperatures will drop by a couple of degrees and no weather warnings will be in place. There'll be some high cloud and morning fog around, particularly along the coast.

 

By Sunday September 6, as the weekend draws to a close, temperatures will ease off slightly further, with highs expected to reach around 36°C.
