Mazarrón mayor signs new agreement with local animal charity

This new agreement will help APROAMA care for abandoned animals and raise awareness in the community

Mazarrón’s mayor, Ginés Campillo, has signed a new agreement with the Mazarrón Animal Protection Association (APROAMA) to support the town’s work caring for animals.

The agreement gives APROAMA, led by President Isabel María Navarro, €5,000 to help with its day-to-day work. The group focuses on finding homes for abandoned pets, providing veterinary care and running campaigns to get people thinking about how to look after animals properly.

At the signing, Mayor Campillo stressed the value of local authorities and organisations working together.

“This agreement shows our commitment to animal welfare and to the groups that do such important work protecting animals and raising awareness in the community,” he said.

The Town Hall says the agreement will help improve life for animals in Mazarrón and encourage people to care for them responsibly. This will be welcome news for many in the area, where so many people are passionate about animal welfare.

Local charities, volunteers and community members play a huge role in looking after abandoned and mistreated animals in the area. Agreements like these help support and highlight their ongoing efforts also.
