Los Alcazares Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on Los Alcazares Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:

Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?
…but try not to exceed 300 words
Also attach a photo to illustrate your article, no more than 100kb
May 14 to 18 International Museums Day celebrations in Jumilla
A host of guided visits and musical events at the museums of Jumilla
In recent years the Night of the Museums has become one of the most popular dates in the calendar all over the Region of Murcia and this year, with the date falling on a Saturday (May 18) the weekend is being celebrated with open doors days, free tours and a myriad of other activities.
In the town of Jumilla, in the north of the Region, there are a variety of activities taking place mostly between May 14 and 18. All of the town’s museums are open on May 17 from 10.00 to 14.00 and 17.00 to 23.00 and the full schedule is as follows:
Wednesday May 14
20.00: A talk at the Wine Museum entitled “Salzillo: el enigma revelado”, in which Mariano Spiteri explains aspects of the life and work of the famed Murcia sculptor who live in the late 18th century and created the revered figure of Cristo Amarrado a la Columna, which is being taken back up to the Monastery of Santa Ana in a romería on 11th May.
Thursday May 15
21.15: Presentation of the magazine Pleita 13 at the Wine Museum, followed by wine tasting in the gardens of the museum.
Friday May 16
17.00 to 20.00: An escape room activity outside the museums, for all ages, in which competitors are sent on a mission to space!
22.00: Presentation of the promotional video “Siente los museos de Jumilla”.
22.15: “Flamenco, raíces y alas”, a concert featuring singer Victoria Cava, followed by wine supplied by the Jumilla Wine Route. Venue: Plaza de Arriba.
Saturday May 17
OPEN DAY AT THE MUSEUMS
11.00: A free guided tour of the Archaeological Museum entitled “Las Malestas del Futuro”.
12.00: A free dramatized tour of the Ethnographic Museum entitled “Concoiendo al Profesor Siroko”.
20.30: “Suena la Historia”, a free concert at the Ethnographic Museum by the AMJS music society.
22.30: Orquesta Panther Show in concert at the Wine Museum.
Sunday May 18
