The vibrant and diverse community spirit of the Mar Menor is taking the limelight in San Javier over the last weekend of March at the 12th Associations Fair and 4th Book Fair, which are being held simultaneously from 10.30am to 6.30pm on the Explanada Barnuevo in Santiago de la Ribera.

A total of around 60 stands and stalls are being set up, most of them for businesses and associations based in San Javier itself, opening on Saturday between 10.30 and 19.00 and on Sunday from 10.30 to 14.00. Among the events planned during the fairs are a tasting of locally produced food (with coffee included), children’s activities, music, entertainment and the displays and other attractions organized by the associations themselves.

On the Sunday morning there will be DJ music and vermouth with Don Michael Reggae, while the local time bank will be promoting the enormous range of activities and courses it offers.

The Association to Help the Sahrawi People will even be hosting a traditional tea ritual at their stand.

 

Councillor María del Mar Pérez invites everyone to come and discover the important work of these amazing associations, and to take part in the many activities on offer.
