March 29 Free guided tour of the way history is recorded in rock at Monte Arabí in Yecla
Both Nature and Man have left their mark on the rocks of Monte Arabí
Over the course of the 10 million years or more since the “mystical mountain” of Monte Arabí in Yecla was formed, natural forces have sculpted some unique rock formations and, in later millennia, human beings have also made their mark.
This guided 6-kilometre walk show how human and geological prehistory is still recorded in the rock at various locations, and begins at 10.00, lasting for approximately 3 and a half hours. The activity is free of charge but prior registration is required online here as of March 15 at 9.30.
The route is not recommended for children aged under 9.
NOTE: THIS VISIT DOES NOT INCLUDE THE PREHISTORIC ROCK ART OF MONTE ARABÍ.
If visiting Yecla don’t forget to make sure one of your first ports of call is the tourist office (Plaza Mayor, 1, email turismo@yecla.es, telephone 968 754104).
