March 15 Regional hiking day in Abarán

15- and 11-kilometre routes with food and drink provided in the beautiful Ricote valley!

This 18th edition of the Region of Murcia hiking day is a complete experience for lovers of the great outdoors, and is taking place in the small town of Abarán, in the heart of the beautiful Ricote valley half an hour’s drive from the regional capital.

The day begins with breakfast at 8.00 before walkers set out on the longer of the two routes (15 kilometres) at 9.00, with those opting for the shorter distance (11 km) starting at 9.30.

Snacks are provided along both route (a sandwich and a drink) and at the end there is a meal for all those taking part as well as a prize draw, a commemorative running bah and t-shirt and a visit to the “Floración”, the sight of thousands of fruit trees in blossom which attracts visitors to this part of Murcia every spring.

The cost of taking part (including insurance) is 21 euros for members of the Murcia hiking and mountaineering federation and 25 euros for non-members, with registration now open online here.
