Award-winning Spanish movie at the Museo del Vino in Jumilla
20,000 Species of Bees is a Spanish film dating from 2023, originally titled “20.000 Especias de Abejas”, and marked the debut of director Estibaliz Urresola Solaguren. Starring Sofía Otero, Patricia López Arnaiz, Ane Gabarain, and Itziar Lazkano, it tells the story of Lucía, a young girl who identifies as transgender and is searching for her identity when, on holiday in a village house, she dabbles in beekeeping and explores her own femininity.
The film has won numerous awards, including to 9-year-old Sofía Otero for Best Leading Actress and the top prize at the 26th Málaga Film Festival.
The screening (in Spanish) at the Museo del Vino in Jumilla begins at 20.30 and all are welcome!
