June 23 San Javier, Santiago de la Ribera and La Manga celebrate Noche de San Juan
Three of the municipality's biggest summer hotspots will mark the traditional festivo with live music, entertainment and spectacular fire displays
San Javier is getting ready to welcome summer with one of the most eagerly anticipated nights of the year as San Juan celebrations return to the municipality with bonfires, live music, family entertainment and plenty of festive atmosphere.
Events have been organised across San Javier, Santiago de la Ribera and La Manga del Mar Menor, with activities taking place on and around the traditional Night of San Juan on Tuesday June 23.
Presenting this year's programme, Councillor for Festivities Isabel Madrid described San Juan as "one of the most special nights of the year", highlighting its connection to local traditions, neighbourhood gatherings and the arrival of the summer season.
San Javier

In San Javier itself, celebrations will centre on Parque Almansa, where families can enjoy a range of children's activities including games, pedal karts, face painting, temporary tattoos, inflatables, a giant target game and sweet treats.
A selection of food trucks will also be on site throughout the evening. Live music will be provided by the group Serendeipity and, instead of a traditional bonfire, the night will conclude with a fire show.
Santiago de la Ribera

In Santiago de la Ribera, the action moves to the shores of the Mar Menor, with celebrations running from 9pm until 1am.
Music will take centre stage with performances from well-known local DJs including Dani DJ, Paco Zapata and Mr Arbi, accompanied by special lighting effects designed to create a lively atmosphere along the waterfront.
The area's only official municipal bonfire will be lit on El Pescador beach, offering visitors the chance to enjoy one of San Juan's most cherished traditions beside the sea.
La Manga del Mar Menor

La Manga's celebrations will extend across two days, on June 23 and 24, at the esplanade next to the sports centre at kilometre 12 of the Gran Vía.
The programme includes craft stalls, food vendors, concerts, DJ sessions, inflatables, parades and stilt walkers. The highlight will come on the evening of June 23 with the lighting of the traditional San Juan bonfire.
Ms Madrid thanked the various municipal departments, local organisations, businesses and community groups involved in organising the festivities.
"With this programme we want to offer leisure activities for all audiences in our public spaces and continue bringing life to our town centres at the start of summer," she said.
The councillor added that the San Juan festivities effectively serve as the municipality's unofficial launch of the summer season.
The councillor also reminded residents that Santiago de la Ribera will host the "La Mar de Risas" comedy festival on June 26 and 27, featuring comedians Pepe Céspedes, Chely Capitán and Toni Rodríguez.
The resort town will also welcome the second edition of Tour Fest, combining live music, gastronomy, crafts and nautical activities in one of the Mar Menor's most popular settings.
