The annual book fair in Caravaca de la Cruz has become an established event in the regional cultural calendar, and this year takes place from June 13 to 21 in the Plaza San Juan de la Cruz, where a number of stands and stalls will be selling books of all kinds. At the same time, presentations are scheduled with various writers of renown including Sánchez del Castillo, Poeta Ibáñez, Elías los Arcos, Gregorio Javier, Miguel Espinosa, Luis Leante and Miguel Sánchez Robles.
In addition, musical entertainment will be focus on the mystics Juan de la Cruz and Santa Teresa de Jesús on a special guided route for which registration is available in the library at a price of 3 euros.
Anyone buying a book at the fair is eligible for a prize draw for one of four sets of books for further reading!
The program for the week includes the following:
Saturday June 14
11.00 to 13.00: Live painting by the artist Emil Nikolla and children’s entertainment.
20.00: Presentation by Lola García of the book “La vida con G”.
Sunday June 15
20.00: Presentation by the local writer Miguel Sánchez Robles of his latest novel “No sabe del amor quien vuelve vivo”.
Monday June 16
20.00: Presentation by Rubén Sánchez Vicente of his latest book “Lo que callan las piedras”.
Tuesday June 17
18.00: Children’s workshops and games.
20.00: Presentation by Paco López Mengual of his latest books “El último barco a América” and “Yo maté al caudillo”.
Wednesday June 18
20.00: A talk by the writer and journalist Rosa Montero.
Thursday June 19
20.00: A talk by the writer and journalist Marta Robles.
Friday June 20
19.30: Presentation by Miguel Ángel Jorquera García of his latest book “Forjando el mañana”.
21.00: Fiesta of the arts with a concert featuring Marta Sánchez.
Saturday June 21
11.00 to 13.00: Live painting by the artist Emil Nikolla and children’s entertainment.
