Jumilla already preparing for August fiestas!
Posters and leaflets are on display this week at the huge FITUR tourism fair in Madrid
As we grit our teeth (if not the roads!) and put up with the cold of January throughout Spain, in Jumilla this week they’re already looking forward to the month of August and the Feria and Fiestas of the Grape Harvest, already unveiling the official posters for the main events in time to present them at the massive FITUR tourism fair in Madrid (21st to 25th January).
The Tourism department of the Town Hall has also presented a new logo for the August celebrations as well as a leaflet informing visitors of the main events, and this is to be handed out to members of the public – in total, around a quarter of a million people visited FITUR last year!
The general poster was designed by Juan Manuel Bernal of the company Imprecubi and captures the essence and emotions of these deep-rooted celebrations, while alongside this image are other promoting the National Folk Festival, the Fiesta de la Vendimia itself and the religious events associated with the Brotherhood of the Virgen de la Asunción, the patron of Jumilla.
These latter posters are the work of José Andrés Montalbán for the Folk Festival and Luis Ruiz and Juan Canicio for the Fiesta de la Venidimia, while Mari Carmen Calabuig designed the one for the Brotherhood of the Patron.
