On Saturday July 5, Los Alcázares Town Hall is showing a documentary film in its Salón de Plenos hall as part of its ‘Culture for Nature’ programme.

 

The documentary ‘I Am The River, The River Is Me’ will be shown in its original English-language version with Spanish subtitles. The screening begins at 8pm.

 

‘I Am The River, The River Is Me’ takes the viewer on a journey down the Whanganui River in New Zealand, the first river in the world recognised as having legal personhood of its own right and an inspiration for the legal recognition of the Mar Menor lagoon in the same way.

 

Entrance to watch the film is absolutely free of charge and you don't have to register beforehand. All you have to do is turn up, though anyone who wishes to enter after the room's capacity is reached will be turned away.

 

The following day there is another English-language documentary screening in the same place at the same time.
