July 10 to 19 Cartagena coastline hosts first ever Tapas Route
Six iconic establishments in Islas Menores, Mar de Cristal and Playa Honda will offer exclusive creations for diners to taste and vote on

Cartagena's coastline is getting its first ever Tapas Route this summer, with six of the most popular bars and restaurants across Islas Menores, Mar de Cristal and Playa Honda putting their own spin on the humble tapa between July 10 and 19.
The Professional Association of Hospitality, known as HOSTECAR, has teamed up with Cartagena City Council to bring the route to life, hoping to give the area's food scene a boost while keeping both residents and holidaymakers entertained throughout the summer.
Councillor for Tourism Beatriz Sánchez del Álamo joined HOSTECAR president Querubina Rosique Martínez and UPCT tourism student Alejandro Gutiérrez Albaladejo at La Oliva Restaurant this Tuesday, where the route was officially launched in front of the people behind the project.
Anyone fancying a taste can pick up a tapa and a drink for just €4 at any of the six participating spots. After trying the dishes, customers simply scan the QR code on the posters and leaflets dotted around each venue to cast their vote for their favourite.
Everyone who registers a score gets automatically entered into a draw for dinner for two, with the prize served up at whichever establishment scoops the title of best tapa.
The six establishments taking part are La Cangreja, Tofi, Chiringuito de Islas Menores, Puerto de Mar de Cristal, La Oliva and El Rincón Cubano.
