January 31 Opening gala of the Águilas Carnival celebrations 2026

The 2025 Carnival dignitaries hand over to their successors in at a colourful gala in the Pabellón Diego Calvo Valera

The largest Carnival celebrations in the Region of Murcia, and indeed one of the largest in Spain, gets under way on Saturday 31^st January at the Pabellón Diego Calvo Valera (click for map) with the Grand Gala at which the dignitaries of the 2025 fiestas hand over their “powers” to those who have been elected to succeed them this year.

Far more than just a ceremonial handing over of office, though, this is a full-blown spectacle in the best Águilas tradition!

The show begins at 21.00 with tickets priced at 10, 15 and 20 euros, and available only in person at the premises in Calle Floridablanca nº 3C on 12^th, 13^th, 21^st, 22^nd, 28^th and 29^th January from 18.00 to 21.00.
