The International Unit at Caser Residencial Málaga recently expanded its service through a collaboration with the Institute of Nursing in Finland.

 

As the centre explained, “Thanks to our agreement with the Institute of Nursing (Finland), we were able to expand our service coverage within the International Unit and welcomed Katri and Satu, two nursing students who have been with us for four weeks. In a very short time, they have adapted to the rhythm of the centre and won the affection of our residents and the team.”

 

Their presence provided valuable support to daily care while offering residents new opportunities for social interaction. The students quickly became part of the community during their stay, bringing fresh perspectives and contributing to the warm atmosphere that defines the centre.

 

The International Unit at Caser Residencial Málaga is designed to offer nursing, elderly care and recuperative services for foreign nationals living in Spain, all within the context of a language they understand.

 

Around 7,000 Finnish citizens are registered as residents in the province of Málaga, nearly 60% of them in Fuengirola, and a large number of them are retirees or those in the ‘third age’, increasingly in need of medical and specialist care services.

 

Katri Tynkkynen, one of the participants in the programme, commented, “Thank you so much to all of you for your kindness and happiness. I will remember it all here, back in chilly Finland!”
