HELP Murcia Mar Menor delivers essential supplies to mothers and children in need
Baby clothes, nappies and handknitted cardigans were kindly donated to the REDMADRE charity in Cartagena

HELP Murcia Mar Menor has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting vulnerable members of the community, this time by reaching out to mothers and young children struggling to make ends meet in Cartagena.
A few weeks ago, Debbie from HELP Murcia Mar Menor received an invitation to visit REDMADRE in Cartagena, a charity dedicated to helping women and families facing difficult circumstances. The facility, made possible through the generosity of an anonymous benefactor, provides vital support to those who need it most.
Impressed by what she saw, Debbie returned recently with fellow HELP volunteers Irene, Alan and Paul, bringing donations that will make a real difference to local families. The group delivered baby clothes that had been donated to HELP, along with beautifully handmade cardigans knitted by some very talented local ladies.
On top of this, HELP spent €250 on essential items including baby wipes, nappies and sanitary products.
REDMADRE is currently supporting 22 women and children who have been finding it tough to manage and the volunteers there were extremely grateful for the donation. The charity operates with a team of 30 volunteers working on various days throughout the week.
The centre welcomes visitors on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
"This is a fantastic charity; they are doing amazing work and were very grateful for our donation," Debbie explained after the visit.
To find out how you can help, visit the REDMADRE Facebook page.
HELP Murcia Mar Menor was founded in 2002 and continues to live up to its mission of supporting those in need across the Region of Murcia. The organisation is a registered voluntary charity funded entirely by voluntary contributions and money raised at social events.
Over the years, HELP has grown tremendously from its modest beginnings with just two second-hand wheelchairs. Today, the charity maintains an impressive inventory of around 80 pieces of mobility equipment, ranging from walking sticks to mobility scooters, all available for loan to anyone who needs them.
Equipment can be borrowed from the HELP office, which is open for business on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am to 12.30pm.
Anyone interested in contributing to HELP's work can visit the office in Los Alcázares or pop into their Outlet at Avenida de la Unión 57 in San Javier, where volunteers are always happy to chat and share more information about what they do. The Outlet opened in 2015 and offers the public a wide range of clothing, household items, furniture and much more.
The Outlet is open five days a week, Monday through Friday, from 10am to 1.30pm. Deliveries and collections can be arranged for Wednesdays and Thursdays with prior notice.
