February 15 Guided hike in the Sierra de la Pila near Fortuna

A 9-km route in the mountains of central Murcia

The natural springs on the southern slopes of the Regional Park of Sierra de la Pila, where the hamlet of San Joy lies, are at the heart of this guided hike on 15^th February, in which walkers follow a 9-km route to the beauty spot of Caramucel. This is an area of special interest as a habitat for birds which nest on ledges in rock faces. Along the way the landscape and views are among the most stunning in the regional park.

The route, which is described as being of medium difficulty, begins at 9.00 and is expected to last between 3 and a half and 4 hours. The starting point will be revealed after registration, which can be completed at a price of just 3 euros online here until 12^th February or through the local tourist office in Fortuna (oficinaturismo@aytofortuna.es, telephone 968 685586 / 648 003225).

Walkers are advised to ensure that they wear appropriate footwear and hiking gear, and to bring drinking water and a snack.
