February 1 to 28 Km 0 tapas treats at hostelries affiliated to the Jumilla Wine Route
A tapas route with a difference as Jumilla restaurants offer wine with their culinary snacks
The annual KM 0 tapas route, which is being held in and around the town of Jumilla for the 6th time in 2026, inlcudes wineries from the area which are affiliated to the Jumilla Wine Route in the north of the Region of Murcia and also in the province of Albacete, from Friday Saturday January 31 to Saturday February 28.
This is a tapas route with a difference: whereas most events of this kind place more importance on the food on offer than on the accompanying liquid refreshments, in Jumilla the emphasis is also on the locally produced wines, which are exported not only to other regions of Spain but all over the world. The Denomination of Origin of Jumilla wines also extends to other wine-growing municipalities in the area, including Ontur and Hellín in the province of Albacete, and the list of participating restaurants reflects this geographical spread.
Each of those establishments is offering sublime tapas, produced not for their cheapness but with the aim of achieving a quality matched by the accompanying DOP Jumilla wines. Each tapa and glass of wine is priced at 4.50 euros and scratch cards for on-the-spot prizes are given out, while those who complete the route will be eligible for a prize draw in which the winners receive trips for two to an as yetr undisclosed wine producing area (in 2025 it was Bordeaux in France and Txakoli in the Basque Country). Those with at least three stamps are guaranteed at least a small memento of their participation.
The restaurants and bars taking part are Restaurante Tres Soles, Bar Venecia, Café Bar Sota, Restaurante La Macarena, Restaurante Reyes Católicos and Restaurante Casa Sebastián in Jumilla, El Parque, Tapería Casa Encarna and Anygut in Ontur and Don Manuel in Hellín, while the wines on offer are produced by 16 wineries incuded in the Wine Route.

A new introduction this year is a Saturday coach service taking diners from one town to the other, linking Jumilla with Hellín and Ontur with lunchtime departures and evening return journeys.
If visiting Jumilla don’t forget to make your first port of call the local tourist office (Plaza del Rollo, 1, telephone 968 780237 / 663 300779, email oficinaturismo@jumilla.org.
