December 4 to 7 International Beach Soccer Mar Menor Cup in Santiago de la Ribera

Portsmouth represent the UK in a multinational tournament on the Mar Menor beach of San Javier

The 11th annual “Playas de San Javier” beach soccer tournament is being held in Santiago de la Ribera from 4^th to 7^th December, when 16 teams from all over the world compete for the trophy.

British representation is present in the shape of Portsmouth, who are drawn in a group with the hosts (Playas de San Javier), CFP Torredembarra from the Catalan province of Tarragona and Atlético Río from Puerto Rico. The other three groups in the line-up include teams from Portugal, France, Costa Rica, Belgium, Poland, Norway and Italy as well as various from around Spain, including local neighbours Los Alcázares.

The venue for all matches is the beach between the Real Club de Regatas and Barnuevo, where play begins in the morning and lasts until 18.00 until the 50-match format is completed.
