December 12 Treasure hunt with cash prizes for young adults in Lorca!
The Tesoro Perdido de Don Juan de Guevara challenge involves Escape Room-type clues in the historic city centre of Lorca
The historic city centre of Lorca is set to become a gaming board for youngsters as they compete to solve clues, discover secret passages and find hidden “keys”, leading them to the treasure which awaits them!
This is the scenario created by a new “urban adventure” in Lorca titled “Tesoro Perdido de Don Juan de Guevara” (The Lost Treasure of Juan de Guevara), with the event taking place on Friday 12th December at 17.00 and deemed appropriate for young adults aged between 14 and 30 – many of whom will doubtless be attracted by the possibility of winning some of the 1,000 euros at stake in prize money!
This is divided into various pots worth 25, 50 and 100 euros each, all of which will be deposited in hiding holes at various points in the city centre. Each team will have to plot their own route and strategy, using their mobile phones as tools with which to solve the clues as they go along.
Teams must consist of two or three members and registration is available online here.
It is hoped, of course, that as well as providing a fun and exciting challenge for youngsters to tackle, the activity also helps to interest young people in the rich historical heritage of Lorca, seeing the city centre as a real living entity which can be as dynamic today as it was in previous centuries.
For more local events, news and visiting information contact the tourist office at the Palacio de Guevara (telephone 968 441914) or go to the home page of Lorca Today.
