Young people in the town of Cehegín have at their disposal the facilities offered by the Casa de la Juventud, an area which was conceived and designed for the youth of the town. Here they can meet their friends, form and join youth organizations, and organize any other type of activity to occupy their leisure time.
Within the Casa de la Juventud, the Town Hall also provides a service for young people where they can be advised and counseled about all kinds of issues, mainly related to their professional and social future.
The building which is now the Casa de la Juventud goes back to the times of the old régime, and has also been the home of the Spanish Youth Organisation. At the end of Francos dictatorship, after the transition to democracy, the building passed into the hands of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, which transferred control of it to Cehegín Town Hall.
The ground floor currently includes rooms which are used for various activities and meeting rooms for the associations which are based in the centre. These include societies for model plane enthusiasts, cave explorers and pot-holers, astronomy, cycling, scuba diving and audiovisual arts lovers, as well as the PRO Youth Association.
The upper floor contains the offices of Cehegín Municipal Radio, the Youth Information Service (Infojoven) and archive rooms.
