Camposol residents offered more solar street lights
Spare solar-powered lights are being offered across the Camposol urbanisation following successful installations in sectors C and D

Camposol residents who are still dealing with dark streets and faulty lamp posts may now have an opportunity to get them fixed after Mazarrón Council announced it has a number of spare solar-powered street lights available for installation.
The move follows a recent initiative aimed at tackling one of the urbanisation's most persistent complaints, the lack of working street lighting on some public roads.
According to local representatives, the issue was raised with the council by a resident several months ago. Although the local authority does not currently have the resources to carry out a full upgrade of the lighting network across the entire urbanisation, it was able to secure a limited number of solar-powered replacement units.
The lights were initially installed in sectors C and D, where reported faults have now been addressed. With some units still available, the scheme is being extended to the rest of Camposol, including sectors A and B.
Councillor for Camposol Carmen Navarro is asking residents to report any remaining non-functioning street lights on public roads so they can be assessed for replacement while stocks last.
Homeowners should provide the name of the road and the number of the nearest property when submitting a report. Requests can be sent by email to mcarmennp@mazarron.es and will be passed to council technicians for inspection.
The council has stressed that the scheme only applies to lights located on public roads. Street lighting within private polígonos remains the responsibility of the relevant community of owners, meaning the council cannot carry out maintenance or replacements in those areas.
Residents can also use the same email address to report cockroach problems originating from public roads. These reports will be forwarded to the council's pest control contractor for assessment and any action considered necessary.
With a limited number of solar lights still available, residents experiencing problems are being encouraged to report them sooner rather than later.
