Bristol to Malaga easyJet flight declares emergency after smoke detected in cabin
Both pilots had to put on oxygen masks as the aircraft approached Malaga Airport

An easyJet flight from Bristol declared an emergency while approaching Malaga Airport on Monday September 7 after the crew detected smoke in the cabin.
The pilots alerted air traffic control to the problem as the aircraft made its approach to Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport. With smoke reported on board, both pilots put on oxygen masks while the aircraft was given priority to land.
Airport emergency services were also activated as a precaution, with the aircraft cleared to approach runway 12.
Despite the situation, the landing itself was completed normally and the aircraft left the runway without incident. Emergency services met the plane after it arrived and the necessary checks were carried out before normal airport operations resumed.

The flight, easyJet EZY2715, was travelling from Bristol to Malaga. The airline said the crew had requested an emergency landing because of a possible technical problem.
easyJet confirmed that the aircraft landed safely and stressed that the emergency response at the airport was a routine precaution. All passengers were able to disembark without incident.
“The safety of our customers and crew is easyJet's top priority,” the airline said.
There has been no indication that any passengers were injured in the incident.
